Today I’m going to be talking about pre-workout nutrition and the importance of it. So it’s widely known that what you eat before you go into the gym can have a significant effect on how much effort you’ll be putting into the gym and how intense you can workout. Well, a lot of people don’t actually understand what you need to eat before you go into the gym. So, what I would recommend is eating a decent amount of carbohydrates with a moderate amount of protein and a small amount of fat. This is because the main fuel source that the body uses, particularly during weights training, is going to be glucose and this comes from carbohydrates.

You want some protein in there for the satiation and a little bit of fat just to slow the digestion of the meal to give you long lasting energy throughout the whole workout. So instead of having something like a light chicken salad before the gym, get some carbs into you for like oatmeal and protein powder to have a more intense workout.
