What is REPs Registration and why do I need it?
The best part about studying with Fit Futures Academy is once you have successfully completed your Personal Training Certificate, as a graduation gift to you, we pay for your first year of REPs Registration!
REPs is the New Zealand Register of Exercise Professionals. By having REPs Registration, you will gain the ability to work at REPs Registered Exercise Facilities. As the majority of facilities in New Zealand will only employ REPs Registered Exercise Professionals, getting your REPs Registration is an important part of your professional journey.
Being REPs registered also means you’re protected by public liability and professional indemnity insurance which covers you, your clients, and the facilities you are working under. REPs also provide special discounts on products and services, and discounted rates to events such as FitEx.
Can I work while I study?
Absolutely! The Online Certificate in Personal Training is designed for students who are working, completing other studies, have full-time family commitments, or are even professional athletes. With a time commitment of only 5-10 hours per week, the Online Certificate in Personal Training is easy to fit around your lifestyle.
What is my earning potential?
Working as a Personal Trainer in New Zealand has great earning potential. Standard 30-minute PT sessions charge out between $40 - $60, so working as little as 20 sessions per week (or 10 hours) you can earn up to $2,000!
Can I work as a PT overseas?
The Fit Futures Academy Certificate in Personal Training is recognised by REPs NZ. REPs can provide a letter of portability, which allows you to work in Australia, USA, UK, Canada, India and many other countries! For more info about working overseas, check out the REPs website: https://icreps.org/

Can I choose the facility/trainer for my work experience?
Yes, you can. Your work experience can be completed in any REPs Registered facility or with any REPs Registered trainer. The work experience portion of the course is only 40 hours over the 12 months of study and can be completed at your own convenience.
Do you offer nutrition courses?
Yes, we do. We offer the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certificate. This is a well-respected certificate in the fitness industry. The Precision Nutrition Certificate will cover everything you need to know about writing nutritional programming for your clients and give you an extra advantage to stand out from your competitors!

Will I get enough practical experience with the Online Certificate in Personal Training?
Fit Futures Academy has invested heavily in building a cutting-edge online learning platform that will guide you through the course, as well as making sure that you have a personal tutor to provide support throughout the duration of your studies. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to spend 40 hours completing the practical experience in a local gym or other REPs registered facility.
